DYNAMIC COMPRESSION
RECOVER FASTER AND IMPROVE CIRCULATION

Dynamic Compression therapy is a cutting-edge recovery modality that uses pneumatic compression to enhance circulation, reduce muscle soreness, and accelerate healing. Developed by a physician and backed by clinical research, Normatec systems feature patented Pulse Technology, uses rhythmic air pressure to mimic the natural muscle contractions of the limbs. This rhythmic compression gently massages to help mobilize fluid, flush out metabolic waste, and deliver oxygen-rich blood to targeted areas—most commonly the legs, arms, and hips.

As you recline in comfort, the therapy involves wearing specialized sleeves connected to a control unit that cycles through zones of compression. Unlike static compression, Normatec’s dynamic system uses a sequence of pulsing, gradient pressure, and distal release to prevent backflow and optimize recovery. The experience is both restorative and deeply relaxing, making it a favorite among wellness enthusiates, athletes, physical therapists, and wellness clinics for post-exercise recovery, injury rehabilitation, and lymphatic support. FDA-cleared Normatec system delivers a non-invasive, comfortable, and highly effective way to restore mobility and reduce inflammation.

The perfect fusion of science and serenity and a staple in modern performance and wellness routines.

Who and Beneift and is Dynamic Compression Safe for Everyone?

Dynamic compression therapy is generally considered safe for most people. The Normatec system is FDA-cleared and widely adopted in athletic, clinical, and wellness settings for recovery, circulation enhancement, and inflammation reduction.

However, dynamic compression is NOT RECOMMENDED for everyone. Individuals with certain underlying health concerns, especially cardiovascular or circulatory you should consult a healthcare provider prior and obtain clearance from a physician before adding compression therapy to your wellness plan. These include:

  • Acute thrombophlebitis
  • Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Pulmonary edema
  • Severe arterial disease or vascular disorders

How does it work?

Compression therapy works by applying controlled pulsed pressure to specific areas of the body, most commonly the legs, arms, or hips. The system is designed to improve blood flow, reduce swelling, and support lymphatic drainage.

Souler Float uses Normatec’s pneumatic system, the device inflates and deflates in cycles, mimicking the body’s natural muscle pump. This not only enhances venous return but also stimulates the lymphatic system, which lacks its own pump. By helping move lymph fluid, compression therapy supports detoxification and immune function.

When is Dynamic Compression Not Recommended?

Contraindications:

  • Current or unstable fractures/breaks
  • Recent surgery and have sutures/stitches
  • Open wounds, contusions, abrasions
  • Suspect or known Acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT) (blood clot)
  • Severe atherosclerosis (disease of the arteries)/Ischemic vascular disease (IVD)
  • Severe congestive cardiac failure (CHF)
  • Existing pulmonary edema (having excess fluid in the lungs)
  • Existing pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs)
  • Extreme deformity of the limbs
  • Any local skin conditions such as gangrene, untreated or infected wounds, recent skin graft, or dermatitis
  • Known presence of malignancy in the legs or arms
  • Limb infections, including cellulitis that have not been treated
  • Presence of Lymphangiosarcoma (a rare cancer due to long-standing lymphedema of the upper/lower extremities)
Compression Therapy History and Research?

Historical Origins of Compression Therapy

The first known origins of Compression therapy dates back to ancient Egypt and Rome, where healers used tight bandages to reduce swelling and promote healing. Moving foward into the 16th Century, a French surgeon Ambroise Paré used compression bandages to control bleeding in wounded soldiers.

The 1930s–1950s saw the evolution of more modern compression garments emerge in Europe, with the creation of medical-grade stockings to treat venous insufficiency.

In the 1980s, compression techniques were introduced, that involved applying higher pressure at the extremities and decreasing toward the core, the new medical standard.

Mid 20th Cenury saw the evolution into Dynamic Pneumatic Compression devices, developed to treat lymphedema and venous ulcer and in 1998 Dr. Laura Jacobs, a bioengineer and rehabilitation physician, invented the Normatec system, introducing Pulse Technology to mimic natural muscle contractions.

The Normatec Dynamic Compression is offered at Souler Float and widely used in sports medicine, physical therapy, and wellness for recovery, circulation, and lymphatic support.
